Local author shows three faces to support community fundraisers
George Torok demonstrates three faces to his community this spring – all of them good and all raising funds for local community associations. The three faces; Master of Ceremonies for the Burlington Chamber of Commerce; Seminar Leader for the United Way and Motivational Speaker for Junior Achievement.
Raised in Hamilton, and resident in Burlington, Torok speaks to associations and corporations across North America. And he actively supports his community - evidenced by donating his professional services to these special events this spring.
Thursday April 19 Burlington Chamber of Commerce Presidents Gala
The event of the year is sold out. A major fund raiser for the Chamber, it signals the changing of the guard for the executive and more importantly honours the annual business award winners. The Mayor presents his community service award. As MC, Torok’s role will be the glue that moves the evening along, highlights the award winners and keeps everyone awake through the evening, acceptance speeches, dinner and drinks. Watch for some creative moments.

Tuesday May 8 United Way of Burlington, Hamilton-Wentworth
Morning Seminar “Promote Brand You” A bold new direction for the United Way – reach out to entrepreneurs and small business. Offer something of tremendous value and recruit their support for community social causes. How do you attract the attention of this market? Offer them low cost simple marketing techniques. Yep, the United way is thinking and acting like small business. Take risks and explore new markets. Torok will present practical advise, techniques and tips they can take away and use immediately to grow their business. Torok has also donated his service as a door prize.

May 29 Hamilton Junior Achievement Governors Dinner & Awards Gala
The major annual fund raiser will also feature special awards to Junior Achievers – those students who demonstrated business excellence. George Torok will deliver the keynote address, “The Formula for Success”. Previous speakers include; Ron Joyce, Tim Horton Donuts; Ted Rogers, Rogers Communications; Dave Nichol, Loblaws; John Mayberry, Dofasco and Diane Francis, Financial Post.
