What three things make you unique?
I simplify complex things. I am compulsive when it comes to making the best use of our time. My style - a combination of content, humour, warmth and innovation.

Are you a motivational speaker?
I used to answer that question with an abrupt, “No, I have content.” But audience members often thanked me for the inspiration they got from my programs. I realized that I should continue to offer the practical lessons, tips and techniques. And people need to be motivated to use the lessons. So, yes my delivery is motivational and content packed.

Do you use PowerPoint?
Yes I can, in fact I teach presentations skills with and without the use of technology. Be sure to read my popular article, “Ten Hot Tips on Using Computer Projection” before you deliver your next PowerPoint presentation. I prefer not to use PowerPoint for my speeches. I like to be different and keep it simple. I simply use my personal power, presentation skills and character to be effective and memorable. In case I need it, my standard programs are available in PowerPoint.

How can you help us promote this event to our members?
Call me and we can brainstorm and flesh out some ideas on the phone or by email. You can benefit from the wealth of experience I have accumulated from working with many clients and from being a member of several associations. I have plenty of experience promoting special events. When will you arrive?
I generally arrive at least one hour before I’m scheduled to go on – often earlier. For out of town programs I prefer to arrive the evening before to check out the room, meet some of your people and see what else is happening on your program. When delivering a closing keynote I will be there for at least the full last day of your program. Rest assured that I am not one who breezes in five minutes before show time.

Can you meet with us before the event?
Yes. I can meet with you as required. To make the best use of our time I suggest we correspond by phone and email as often as required before your program. Neither one of us need waste time in unnecessary meetings.

Our people are different. How can I be sure that you will connect?
We should talk about your organizational issues and needs. In addition I can interview a few of your people over the phone to give me even more insight. My background from working in many very different industries and organizations lends me the perspective of seeing through multiple lenses.

I have worked in and with clients from many different industries; automotive, financial services, government, health care, consumer products, manufacturing, law firms, aerospace, IT... to name a sampling.

I work often with CEO’s and senior management. I have also been well received by audiences of administrators, purchasers, engineers, entrepreneurs, sales representatives and retail operators.

You have a good message. How can we help our people take away memorable value?
Several ways. And you are right – most do not change their life because of a speech – they need reminders and follow-up. I can offer that in the form of follow-up workshops, coaching, or timed reminders.

When I speak about marketing it is very important that they all take away a copy of my book “Secrets of Power Marketing.” Once they have heard me speak they form a special bond with the book and a greater commitment to follow through. I can also work with your managers and executive to help them coach your people through the changes.

Our president will also be giving a speech at the meeting. How can you help support her message?
By interviewing your president I can learn her key message and build that in to my program. To your audience it looks like, “Wow, George Torok is saying the same thing our president said. Must be something to it then.” It is strange how we often need third party confirmation before we buy in.

That has been my policy for all my presentations since I launched my speaking business in 1994. No client has ever asked for a refund. That tells me that they were satisfied and I guarantee you will be too.

If something goes wrong and you can not make it what will you do for us?
It has never happened. And I have wakened up at 2:30AM to make a flight because of a mistake in scheduling. I will do everything within my power to be there for you. If something prevents me from getting there I will arrange to find you a suitable substitute speaker who is at least as good as I. Because of my affiliation with the World Federation for Professional Speaking I have a vast network of colleagues that I can tap into. You will not be responsible for whatever costs I might incur to deliver on my promise to you.

May we tape your presentation?
Yes of course, but please read all of this answer. You may audio tape my presentation for distribution and/or sale to your members. Provide me with five free copies of the tape and there is no charge to you for the rights to tape.

If you produce the tape for sale outside of your organization please discuss with me directly when booking me to arrange for you to purchase the license to tape, produce and sell.

If you video tape there is a fee for in-house use and a separate charge for external sale. In either case you will provide me with a master copy.

For any taping be sure to let me know ahead of time. That way I can make adjustments in my presentation that will give you the best results.

What do you suggest we do to show our respect for our high achievers?
Good. If you want to encourage the others then be sure to show your respect to your high achievers, designation holders, and star staff.

There are several possibilities. Depending on the size of the group we could conduct a special workshop, breakfast or lunch for this group. I could interview this group to produce an audio tape or CD for distribution or sale to the rest of your people. The tape could include their best tips, examples or lessons learned. You could arrange for this group to receive extra coaching from me. Just call me to discuss these in more detail or search for more ideas.

Give me enough advance notice and each of your people will receive an autographed copy of my book, Secrets of Power Marketing.

Give me enough advance notice and I can personalize each book to your individual attendees. They can receive it as part of their check-in package. That makes quite an impression. But give me time because my hand gets tired when I sign too many in one sitting.

Several ways. Because everything I talk about is geared to people changing, all my programs are geared with that end in mind.

Depending on what level of change you want I can design a program that meets your needs. If you want me to talk to them to set a perspective and point them in a direction that is best achieved with a speech. If you also want to offer them skill sets that is best achieved with a seminar or training program. If you want real change then we can work together to deliver a program that combines delivery style but focuses on the results you want over time.
